This review from a guest says it best! Thanks Patricia! "Clamalot is spectacular!
This was our best experience with Vacation Rental By Owner yet. The property owner - Robert Rose-has put time and effort into creating a space that is clean, handsome, unique and comfortable. The home has historical books and items from the community that create a true sense of "space". The area has many family friendly things to do, fresh seafood, and a laid back vibe. Rob was also communicative and prompt in his responses regarding check in and check out. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property."

A fantastic vacation offering in Historic Beaufort NC! Stunning three bedroom two-story home with off street parking and room for your boat. First floor has a huge living room, well equipped eat in kitchen with new stainless appliances, two bedrooms and one full bath, and a dining room. Upstairs has a huge bedroom with two 3/4 beds and a sitting area, a nook with desk and a full bath. Wood floors throughout, the kitchen is newly refreshed, new two zone air conditioning upstairs and down, and freshly painted and decorated.

The kitchen is very well equipped for a serious prepare, and there is everyday dishwasher safe china, glass and silverware, as well as an broad collection of vintage barware, crystal and china for settings suitable for any occasion. ( glass and dishware with gold decoration must be hand washed-plenty others dishwasher safe)

The back yard is humongous, has charcoal park style grille, 4 Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and a sizable picnic table.

All of the beds are new, the bed linens include 100% cotton sheets, there are reading lights beside the beds to savor books from a enormous collection, with many focused on Beaufort.

Amazon Alexa in living room, and Amazon dots in laundry room and in all bedrooms for music, news, weather, alarms, you name it! ( These are not surveillance devices. Feel complimentary to unplug if the spook you but remember to plug back in for next guests)

This is my second home as well, and has tons of antiques, art, books and collectibles not usually found in a vacation rental. No Ikea here!

Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Historic Beaufort NC House, 3-Bedroom 2-Story, Big Yard, Walk\/Bike Everywhere has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Havelock beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
