Our top Beaufort rental home booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Beaufort:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Incredible Views - Magnificent Sunsets\nI Little Piece of Heaven\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
