Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Knot A Care, Oceanside House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
