Booking the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Maritime West Unit C-33-Ocean Front Condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
