Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront, 1st-Floor Condo with Deck, Ocean Views, WiFi, W/D & Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
