How to find the best Havelock vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanside Condo with family friendly amenities! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
