Tricks and tips to get the very best Havelock rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanside Condo with family friendly amenities! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
