Tips to get the best Havelock rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best vacation home in the Havelock area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Pool and private 1 bedroom apartment downstairs has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
