Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental home in Emerald Isle:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Prior Engagement: Pet Friendly Beach Cottage at Emerald Isle on The Point has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
