Strategies to get the best Havelock rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Seabatical East, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Havelock attraction you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
