Tricks and tips for getting the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the right Havelock rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Crystal Coast Atlantic Beach. Oceanfront with private beach access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
