Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home in the Havelock area:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Surf\/Break, Soundside House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
