Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking your Havelock vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SeaSpray 355, Oceanview Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
