How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Summer Shade - sound and beach access. Newly remodeled and furnished in 2023! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
