How to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, 3rd-floor condo with porch, pools, tennis, pickleball & gym has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Havelock beach you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
