Indian Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Summer Winds B-236, Oceanfront - 2BR 2BA - Atlantic Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
