Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sunny, welcoming home, close to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

During your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
