How to book the best vacation property experience:

When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental in the Havelock area:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Westport D-2: Soundfront Condo 3 Bedrooms 3 Full Baths in Pine Knoll Shores has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Havelock beach you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
