Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, shift your family's Havelock vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book yourrental:

  • First, have your family choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 4BR Ocean Front - King MBR with Views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Havelock attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
