Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Nautical Club 706A has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Havelock destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
