Tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Point in A Place At The Beach, your oceanfront resort destination! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
