Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Time Out West, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Havelock beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
