Tips to get the best rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Reserve your Havelock rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Pirate Haven, Soundside House in Beaufort, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Havelock beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
