Our top Vacation rental tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Pirate Haven, Soundside House in Beaufort, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Havelock destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
