Our top Rental property booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking yourvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Waterfront 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath home in charming Atlantic Beach with private pier has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
