How to book the best Havelock rental home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Havelock rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Quiet, Top-Floor, Ocean & Sound view Condo w\/ Beach Access, Pool, WiFi & more! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
