Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your Havelock vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. The Gray Whale Cottage in Beaufort, NC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
