Our top Havelock vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Havelock area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 3RD FLOOR WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEWS. OCEANFRONT COMPLEX WITH FAMILY AMENITIES has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Havelock attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
