Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3rd row home with PRIVATE POOL AND TIKI BAR has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
