Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. A Place at the Beach - 2 bedroom, 2 baths - Pools, Waterslide, Mini-golf & more! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
