Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beautifully Remodeled, Oceanfront, 3rd-Floor Condo with Balcony & Shared Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
