Havelock vacation rental booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental home:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beaufort by the Sea-Fishing Big Rock or vacationing, pet friendly home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
