How to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- To book the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the best Havelock rental:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Islands and Inlets - the best views on the Crystal Coast! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
