Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Havelock vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Reef 9-B1, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
