Finding the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Indian Beach. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental in the Havelock area:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront, Poolside, Summerwinds, ton of amenities has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
