Rental booking tips:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. OCEANFRONT TOP FLOOR UNIT at A Place at the Beach, Beautifully Renovated has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
