Tips to get the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Havelock visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. One Four Our Three - Oceanfront, 3BR, 1.5BA - Emerald Isle! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
