Our top Havelock rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your Havelock rental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Emerald Isle Retreat with Private Pool & Golf Cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
