Strategies for getting the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. To book the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Havelock area:
- Start by having your group choose dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Pet-Friendly Suites with a small fee, short walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
