Strategies to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Pet-Friendly Suites with a small fee, short walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
