Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Havelock vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing a perfect Havelock vacation home:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Rita’s Rejuvenating Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
