Strategies to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking your Havelock vacation rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking the rightrental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
