Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best vacation home in the Havelock area:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Island Beach Racquet Club 105B, Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
