Getting the best rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Havelock area. To find the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book your prefectrental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Searenity, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More considerations:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
