Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront, Dog Friendly, near the Point, beach & kids' gear, fun decor. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
