Tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking your Havelock rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront available for the holidays! Private Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
