Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. The Pinnacle - OCEANFRONT Full Home with Pool/Hot Tub, 2 Kitchens, large deck has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
