How to get the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Emerald Isle:

  • First, have your family select dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Towering Seas, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
