Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. UPDATED CONDO WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEWS. EASY BEACH OR POOL ACCESS has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
