How to get the best Beaufort vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. East Lodge - Group Friendly!! Free Wifi and Cable TV included has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
