Tips to get the perfect Beaufort vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Havelock rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Enjoy beautiful historic Beaufort at Beaufort Harbour has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
