Our top Havelock vacation rental tips:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. King Suite-Unit 205 - Island Inn Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
