Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront house with many upgrades in the heart of Atlantic Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
